A: Hellgate operates jetboat excursions May 1st - September 22nd. Our gift shop and cafe are open year round.

Q: Are there any age restrictions for children?
A: No, there are no age restrictions and while we do not want to discourage you from bringing the youngsters, the following tips are provided as a guideline:

Q: Can you board our pets while we go on the jetboat?
A: Hellgate does not have pet facilities. However, we recommend contacting Home Away From Home Pet Spa (541)471-8775, website:
www.petspa.com  or Slate Creek Doggy Daycare, (541)476-7485 or email doggyday@uci.net

Q: Can Seniors take part in the trip?
A:
There is no age limit on our excursions, however, we do maintain that participants of any age should be of good health, free of heart, neck, or back issues and not pregnant. Also, seating in the boat is first come, first serve and cannot be reserved.  People with young children may not sit in the first two rows of the boat.

Q: Can we bring a Service dog or Therapy dog on the boat?
A: For the safety of all passengers, any animal, with the exception of an active service animal for physically impaired individuals, is prohibited. Any animal that does not assist an individual with sight, sound or mobility is not allowed on the vessels. Therapy dogs are not permitted on the vessel. Notification that a service dog will be boarding with you is required upon making your reservation. Please be advised that the boat pilot will perform power thrill maneuvers and the animal will need to be secured during the maneuvers. Pet carriers are not permitted as a safety measure.

Q: Are life jackets required?
A: Life jackets are not mandatory on our Scenic, Dinner, Lunch or Brunch trips.  We do provide life jackets at the boarding dock upon request and each boat is equipped with the appropriate number of emergency life vests. Life jackets are mandatory during a segment of the Whitewater Excursions. The emergency life vests are used for this segment.

Q: What should we bring on the trip?
A: During May and September, when the weather is cooler, we suggest you dress warmly or in layers.  It is always cooler in the morning as well as on the return from the Dinner trip. During the warmer months, June through August, bring water, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Be prepared to get wet and dress according to your comfort level.
Shoes and shirts are required on all trips. Bathing suits are not considered appropriate attire for the OK Corral restaurant.

Q: Can I bring a wheelchair on the boat?
A:
We have complimentary wheelchairs available upon request at both the Hellgate office and at the OK Corral restaurant and are happy to provide any assistance needed.

If a guest prefers to bring their own wheelchair to the OK Corral, we can secure the folded chair to the boat railing during the trip. For the 2 hour Quick and Scenic trip, we suggest leaving the chair at the boat docks to await their return.

Powered wheelchairs may not go on the boats due to the weight and water conditions; however, we can sub in one of our complimentary wheelchairs and store the powered chair in our office for safe keeping.

For safety reasons, passengers may not sit in a wheelchair while the boat is moving.

The boat docks are wheelchair accessible.

Q: Do I need identification at the OK Corral?
A: Yes. O.L.C.C. requires all persons 26 and under to show ID at the restaurant prior to consuming alcohol.

Q: How would you describe a Hellgate Jetboat Excursion ride?
A: Our trips are best described as part scenic, part amusement. All fully-narrated trips feature the fun and exciting power thrill maneuvers such as our famous 360'sand bow dunks. Also during the trip, your fun and knowledgeable boat pilot will slow things down to inform you on geological and historical points of interest, point out indigenous wildlife and provide extraordinary photo opportunities. But hold on to your hats because he'll be back on the throttle again!  All trips include the legendary Hellgate Canyon. Our trips are informative and exhilarating; suitable for the entire family. Be prepared to take in the majestic scenery, learn a little about the wild and scenic Rogue River and get wet!

If your trip includes a stop at the OK Corral,  you'll be treated to an all you can eat country-style meal on an open-air deck with a view of the river.  The OK Corral is reserved for our jet boat guests only and the meal is included in the fare. Great value!

Q: How does seating work?
A: All seating is managed by specially trained Hellgate staff. Our top priority is guaranteeing a seat for all passengers, keeping families and parties seated together and maintaining appropriate passenger capacity. Safety is # 1, therefore, very small children are prohibited from the first two rows and side seats. We reserve the right to designate seating for any reason.

Q: How early should we arrive to check-in?
A: We ask that all passengers check in 15 minutes prior to a trip. This allows us time to check our guests in and direct them to their designated loading dock. Please be advised that some trips include up to 6 boats which takes 30 minutes to load. For example, on the 4:15 Dinner Excursion **, we will start loading right at 4:15 and finish loading the last boat by 4:45.

Some guests like to arrive early anticipating a good seat. Please be advised that this could result in a long wait in line when you factor in the amount of time it takes to load all vessels. On very hot days we do not encourage arriving too early.

**loading times vary
